Samsung introduced its ultra edition phone as a top notch solution phone. The Samsung U600 is only 10.9 mm thick. The ultra thin looks defy the fact it can comprise a large number of features into it. This feature rich phone is an improvement on Samsung's earlier phones. The phone has been introduced in seven different color schemes. They are Sapphire Blue, Crystal Blue, Platinum Metal, Copper Gold, Garnet Red, Neutral White, and Soft Black. The color and the petite dimension give the phone an elegant and stylish look. The metallic finish and the touch-sensitive keypad add gloss to the handset.
Screen
The screen dominates the handset. The plastic covering the screen possesses glossy mercury surface and gives the phone a modern look. This glossy surface can be a problem at times when you are outside as it reflects everything other than the information on the screen. Maybe that is the reason why the phone has been provided with a sunlight mode option. It allows the phone to be used outdoors without any problem. Keys
The Samsung U600 is a slider phone. The slider comes equipped with spring-loaded slide mechanism. Under the slider is the keypad. The main numeric pad is designed after RAZR, being a slim metal plate it gives you a tactile feed back. This makes use of the keypad quite comfortable. The keys are lit in bright white, which is visible in various environments. The soft keys are touch-sensitive. The backlighting is spread only to the soft-keys; while the calls receive / reject buttons are not illuminated at all.
Battery
Many times the battery of the ultra thin phones does not live up the standard. But in this case the handset has been provided with Optimized Power Usage Solution (OPUS) to ensure more efficient battery usage. This has increased the battery life by 10%.
