All of us know that one thing Samsung specializes in, is making phones that have killer looks. The company has made one of the slimmest and most gorgeous looking slider cellphone devices which is branded the E840. This is a slider phone which is just 11mm thick (but should be a better word though.) But this is not all. It has looks that are really shiny. The phone has a mirror finished screen and silver colored body. Overall the build quality of the device is very good, because its compact size.

The user interface is Samsung standard grid based interface. You get the option to change to a list view but why bother. Samsung has also made extra effort to make the screen a better one, which is saying something as Samsung phones have some of the best displays in the world.

Overall call quality of the device is very good. Sound of both incoming calls and ring tones is loud and clear. You can easily chat away, even in crowded areas. The battery life of the phone according to Samsung is an amazing 15 days of standby time and 4.5 hours of talk time. The real world timings would be better than current industry average and you would not need to carry your charger around if you go out for a say or two.

The device is not a 3G one but it is a quad band GSM device so you can use it anywhere in the world. You also get the ability to send SMS, MMS and communicate via email. Email is powered using the GPRS or EDGE capabilities of your phone. There is a reader software for viewing MS Office and PDF file. The phone also comes with Netfront Browser which means that surfing on the device is not going to be a pain.

The phone also comes with all the other usual features that are now standard in most phones. There is a 2 megapixel camera, TV out feature, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The phone can also double up as a music player as it can take expansion cards and can handle mp3 and a number of AAC class audio file formats.
