After the roaming success of its first Windows 7 phone, the LG Optimus released in Europe, LG now releases the US version, the LG Quantum. It's an HSPDA 3G phone with a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor that runs on the AT & T network.
Some of the standout features of the LG Quantum include easy access to tools for work, like Bing and Office Mobile, and play, like Zune and Xbox LIVE. It also features Play To, enabling wireless streaming of music, videos, and photos from the device to any DLNA-enabled stereo, TV, or PC.
Integration with some of AT & T's finer services helps amplify the value of the LG Quantum, such as getting turn-by-turn directions with its built-in GPS hooked up to AT & T Navigator.
The device has a 3.5 "touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It can hold 16 GB of memory and last for 6 hours of talktime. The 5 megapixel digital camera in the device can also shoot 720p video, perfect for Video Share, which lets you send videos of yourself to other people with compatible devices while you're making a call.
Of course, if it were not for the new Windows 7 mobile phone operating system installed, this would still be nothing more than a cool smartphone in a field full of cool smartphones. The Windows 7 OS improves upon its predecessors in several ways, not least of which is a new Tiles and Hubs menu format that combines common apps into easy access locations and feeds you relevant live updated information.
